The Department of Meteorology says in a statement that there will be rains from time to time in Easte and Uva provinces and in Polonnaruwa, Mullaitivu, Matale and Nuwara Eliya districts.

The announcement also states that there may be several rainy seasons in Anuradhapura and Hambantota districts.

In Weste , Sabaragamuwa and North Weste provinces and Galle, Matara and Kandy districts after 2.00 pm there may be scattered showers or thunderstorms.

In some places in Weste , Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces, heavy rain of about 75 mm is possible.
