The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that after 2.00 pm there will be scattered showers or thunderstorms in Weste , Central, Sabaragamuwa, South, North-West and Uva provinces.

Some places in Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts may experience heavy rain of more than 50mm.

It also states that there will be rain or thundershowers from time to time in the Easte Province and Polonnaruwa District.

Foggy conditions may prevail in some places in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Central and Uva provinces in the mo ing.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
