The Department of Meteorology says in an announcement that there will be occasional rain or thundershowers in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, South and North-West provinces and Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

In some areas of Weste , Sabaragamuwa and Southe provinces, heavy rains of more than 75 mm can also be expected.

In Uva and Easte Provinces and in Polonnaruwa and Mullaitivu Districts, there will be scattered rain or thundershowers in the evening or at night, the announcement said.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
