The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that after 1.00 pm there will be scattered showers or thunderstorms in many parts of the island.

It also stated that some places in Sabaragamuwa province and Galle and Matara districts may experience heavy rains of about 50 mm.

Foggy conditions may prevail in some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces in the mo ing.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
