The Department of Meteorology says that there may be scattered showers or thunderstorms in many parts of the island today (01) after 2.00 pm.

In Weste , Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces, and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts, Heavy rains of around 100mm may also occur.

It is said that rain will occur in the Easte , North Central and North Weste provinces, Matale and Badulla districts in the mo ing.

The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
