The Meteorological Department issued a statement stating that showers or thundershowers may occur at times in the Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle, Matara, and Puttalam districts.

The statement states that showers or thundershowers may occur at times in other parts of the island during the evening or at night.

The Meteorological Department also states that fairly heavy rains of about 75 mm may occur at some places in the Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Trincomalee, Batticaloa, and Mullaitivu districts.
