The Meteorological Department issued a statement stating that showers or thundershowers are likely to occur in many areas of the island after 1.00 pm tomorrow (24).

Also, showers or thundershowers are likely to occur in several places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and Easte provinces and in the Polonnaruwa, Hambantota, and Mullaitivu districts during the evening or night.

The Meteorological Department further stated that some places in those areas may experience fairly heavy rains of about 75 mm.
