The Meteorological Department says that showers or thundershowers are likely to occur at times in the Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Northweste , and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts today (24).

Issuing a statement, the department stated that showers or thundershowers are likely to occur at places in the Uva province and the Ampara, Batticaloa, and Polonnaruwa districts in the evening or at night.

The statement further states that fairly heavy rains exceeding 75 mm may occur at some places in the Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Nuwara Eliya, and Kandy districts.
