A temporary decrease in the heavy rain conditions in the southweste part of the island can be expected today (04).

According to the weather report issued by the Department of Meteorology, several spells of showers will occur in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southe , and North-weste provinces.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places elsewhere on the island in the evening or night.

The public is highly advised to take necessary safety measures to minimize damages caused by heavy rain, strong winds, thunder, and lightning.
