The Department of Meteorology says in a statement that there will be occasional rain or thundershowers in the Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Weste and Southe provinces.

In Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts, heavy rains of more than 100 mm may also occur in some places.

Several rainy seasons occur in the northe and north-central provinces and Trincomalee district.
 
In Uva and Easte Provinces, rain or thundershowers may occur at places, especially in the evening or at night.

Occasional gusty winds around 40-45 kmh in the weste and southe coastal areas and the weste slopes of the central hills.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
