NPP Leads Badulla District with 6 Seats, SJB Secures 2 Seats



The Sri Lankan Election Commission has announced the final results for the Badulla District in the 2024 General Election. The National People’s Power (NPP) emerged as the leading party, capturing over 58% of the total votes in the district.

The NPP received 275,180 votes, securing the district win, while the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) came in second with 102,958 votes (21.92%).

Based on these results, the NPP has obtained 6 seats in Badulla District, with the SJB winning 2 seats and NDF winning 1 seat.

Results Breakdown:

  • National People’s Power (NPP): 275,180 votes – 6 seats
  • Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB): 102,958 votes – 2 seats
  • New Democratic Front (NDF): 36,450 votes - 1 seat
  • Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP): 11,255 votes
  • United Democratic Voice (UDV) : 9,656 votes
