The Sri Lankan Election Commission has announced the final results for the Trincomalee District in the 2024 General Election. The National People’s Power (NPP) emerged as the leading party, capturing over 42% of the total votes in the district.

The NPP received 87,031 votes, securing the district win, while the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) came in second with 53,058 votes (25.90%).

Based on these results, the NPP has obtained 2 seats in Trincomalee District, with the SJB winning 1 seat and ITAK winning 1 seat.

• National People’s Power (NPP): 87,031 votes – 2 seats
• Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB): 53,058 votes – 1 seat
• Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kadchi (ITAK): 34,168 votes - 1 seat
• New Democratic Front (NDF): 9,387 votes
• Democratic National Alliance (NDA): 4,868 votes
