According to a notice issued by the Nuwara Eliya Magistrate's Court, nine supporters of the Ceylon Workers' Congress, including General Secretary Jeevan Thondaman, who appeared before the court today (03), were ordered to be released.
This was done by Nuwara Eliya Magistrate Lankangani Prabuddhika.
The relevant notice has been issued in connection with an incident in which a group of people allegedly forcibly entered the Nuwara Eliya Peeru Estate and threatened its management.
It is reported that the suspects were released on two personal bails of fifty thousand each, and the case was ordered to be taken up again on June 09.
