Seven monks led by Vietnamese Venerable Pannakara Thero arrived on the island this mo ing (21) for a peace walk.

It is reported that a dog named 'Aloka' has also arrived safely in the country for the peace walk.

Arrangements have been made to hold the inte ationally renowned ''Walk For Peace'' peace walk program in Sri Lanka from today (21st) to the 28th with state sponsorship.

The Most Venerable Pannakara Thero is scheduled to arrive in this walk with a Bodhi sapling obtained from the main Maha Sangha Ratna, the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi Thero of Anuradhapura.
