The Central Bank of Sri Lanka says that for the first time in Sri Lanka's history, per capita GDP has crossed the US$5,000 mark.

This was while publishing the Annual Economic Survey for 2025.

The per capita GDP for 2025 has been recorded at US$5,003.

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka stated that the per capita GDP, which was US$ 4,546 in 2024, has reportedly increased by US$ 457 in a year.
