The Department of Meteorology has issued a statement saying that there will be several periods of rain in Weste , Sabaragamuwa and North-Weste provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

It also said that rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva and Easte provinces during evening or night.

In the weste slopes of the Central Hills, in the North-Central and North-Weste Provinces and in Hambantota and Trincomalee districts, the winds are blowing from time to time around 40-45kmh.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
