The Department of Meteorology says that some rains may occur in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central and Northe provinces and Galle and Matara districts today (18).

The department notes that the sky is heavy with clouds in the northe , central and easte provinces.

Accordingly, it is said that there will be little rain in the North-Central and North-West provinces.

The Department of Meteorology advises that rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva and Easte Provinces during the evening or at night.

In the weste slopes of the Central Hills, in the North-Central Province and in the districts of Puttalam, Hambantota and Trincomalee, there is an occasional strong winds around 40-45 kmh.   

The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
