The Department of Meteorology says in a statement that there will be rain or thundershowers from time to time in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.

It also states that there will be several rainy seasons in the North-West Province.
 
In Uva Province and Ampara and Batticaloa Districts, rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the evening or at night.

In the weste slopes of the central hills, in the northe and north-central provinces and in the districts of Puttalam, Hambantota and Trincomalee, Strong winds of around 40-45 kmh are possible.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
