The Department of Meteorology says that today (09) light rains may occur in Weste , Sabaragamuwa and North-Weste provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.

The department states that rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva and Easte Provinces during the evening or at night.

In the North-Central Province and in Puttalam, Hambantota and Trincomalee districts, the winds are blowing from time to time around 40 kmh are possible.
