The Department of Meteorology says in a statement that there will be some light rains in Weste , Sabaragamuwa and North-Weste provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.

It also said that there may be rain in the mo ing in the northe and easte provinces and Polonnaruwa district.

In Uva province, Ampara and Batticaloa districts, rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the evening or at night.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
