The Meteorological Department states that showers or thundershowers may occur at times in the Weste , Sabaragamuwa, and North-Weste provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts.

The department stated that some places in the relevant areas may experience fairly heavy rain, exceeding 50 mm.

The Meteorological Department further stated that strong winds of about 40–50 km/h may occur at times on the weste slopes of the Central Highlands, the Northe and North-Central provinces, and the Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
