The Department of Meteorology says that there will be occasional rain or thundershowers today (07) in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, North-Weste and Northe provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

It is said that there will be scattered rain or thundershowers in the easte and Uva provinces during the evening or night.

In the weste and southe coastal areas and on the weste slopes of the central hills, there are occasional strong winds of around 40-50kmh are possible.

The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
