Apart from the Northe and Easte provinces, the rest of the provinces will experience rain or thundershowers after 2.00 pm, the Department of Meteorology says in a statement.

It also stated that some places in Sabaragamuwa province and Galle, Matara and Kalutara districts may experience heavy rains of about 50 mm.

Foggy conditions may prevail in some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces in the mo ing.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
