The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that after 2.00 pm there will be scattered showers or thunderstorms in many parts of the island.

It also said that there will be rain or thundershowers in the mo ing in the Northe Province and Puttalam district.

Some places in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southe and Uva provinces and Kurunegala district may experience heavy rains of more than 75 mm.

In some places of Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva Provinces, foggy conditions may prevail in the mo ing.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
