The Department of Meteorology says that except for the Northe , North Central and Easte Provinces, scattered showers or thunderstorms may occur in the rest of the island today (27) after 2.00 pm.

Also, in some places in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts, expect heavy rains above 50mm.

Foggy conditions may prevail in some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces in the mo ing.

The people are also requested to take necessary measures to reduce the accidents caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
