The Department of Meteorology says in an announcement that there will be rain or thundershowers in many parts of the island after 1.00pm.

In Central, Sabaragamuwa and North Central Provinces and in Mannaram, Vavuniya and Mullaitivu districts, there may be heavy rains of more than 100mm in some places.

It is also mentioned in the announcement that some places in the rest of the areas may receive more than 50mm of rain.

Rain may also occur in the northe and easte provinces in the mo ing.

In some places of Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva Provinces, foggy conditions may prevail in the mo ing.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
