The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that after 1.00 pm there will be scattered showers or thunderstorms in many parts of the island.

The announcement also states that some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, South and Weste provinces may experience heavy rain of about 75 mm.

Some places in the Weste Province and Puttalam district may also experience rain in the mo ing.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
