The Department of Meteorology is issuing an announcement that there will be rain or thundershowers from time to time in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, South and North-West provinces and Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Some areas of Galle, Matara, Kalutara and Ratnapura districts can expect heavy rains of more than 50mm.

In Uva and Easte Provinces, Polonnaruwa, Matale and Mullaitivu Districts, scattered rain or thundershowers will occur in the evening or at night.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
