In a world where public speaking has become an essential life skill, Speech Master, hosted by the Gavel Club of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, stands as Sri Lanka’s largest all-island English public speaking platform, which provides a competitive experience that shapes confident and impactful communicators. Speech Master 2026 marks the ninth edition of this prestigious speaking competition, which shines a spotlight on both junior (school) and senior (university) level categories.




To foster enthusiasm for public speaking, communication, leadership, and the skills needed to navigate life and ensure professional growth, The Speaker’s Ascent serves as a series of workshops aligned with the vision of Speech Master 2026. This series of workshops was conducted to prepare participants for the competition and build interest in it, while also being free and open to anyone interested in improving their public speaking skills. These workshops have reached several cities, from the southe coast of Galle to the northe region of Jaffna, with key stops in Colombo and Kandy, and the newly introduced milestone of Batticaloa. With each city, excitement continues to build, and awareness is further expanded.



Registrations for Speech Master 2026 are now open for school students aged 13 years and above (born on or before 31st March 2013) and undergraduates of a state or private university, or any higher educational institution, as of 31st March 2026.
