A suspect was arrested with firearms and ammunition yesterday (13) in the Weliwita area of ​​the Kaduwela Police Division.

This was during a raid conducted by a team of officers from the Colombo Crimes Division based on a tip-off.

A 12-bore firearm, a rifle, 15 rounds of 12-bore ammunition, 02 rounds of rifle ammunition, 01 magazine, and 50 rounds of 7.62 mm live ammunition were also recovered.

The suspect arrested is a 48-year-old resident of the Kaduwela area.
