A Vesak week has been declared from today (27) to June 2, in conjunction with the Vesak festival commemorating the birth of Sri Sambudhu.

Accordingly, this year's State Vesak Festival will be held at the Midellawala Temple in Thihagoda, Matara, under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

The Commissioner General of Buddhist Affairs has requested the public to follow the rituals during the Vesak season and prioritize the offerings of the principles.
