Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya has explained the move taken by the government to extend the state of emergency imposed across the country by a month.

This was in Parliament today (06).

The Prime Minister further stated that the state of emergency was extended by a month to allow for the necessary interventions to quickly restore the damage caused by Cyclone Ditva.
