An accident occurred yesterday (02) evening when a three-wheeler collided with a fuel bowser.

It happened in the Munasinghepura area on the Ratnapura-Panadura road.

In the accident, a woman riding a three-wheeler was thrown from the three-wheeler and crushed under the bowser, dying on the spot. It is reported that the driver of the three-wheeler and three other people riding in it were injured and admitted to the Ratnapura Teaching Hospital.

The deceased woman is a 20-year-old resident of Ayagama.

Police stated that the driver of the bowser involved in the accident has been arrested.
