The Department of Meteorology issued a statement stating that showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Weste , Southe , and Uva provinces and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the evening or night.

The statement also stated that showers may occur in the coastal areas of the Weste and North-Weste provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts during the mo ing.
