The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that an increase in rain conditions is expected in the south-weste parts of the island from today (03) in the next few days.

It also states that there will be rain or thundershowers from time to time in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, South and North-West provinces and Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
 
Heavy rains of more than 75mm can also be expected in some areas of Weste Sabaragamuwa and Southe Provinces.

In the rest of the areas, especially in the Easte and Uva Provinces, scattered showers or thunderstorms are possible in the evening or at night.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
