The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that after 2.00 pm there will be scattered showers or thunderstorms in many parts of the island.

Some places in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces, Galle and Matara districts may experience heavy rains of more than 75 mm.

It also states that rain may occur in the Easte Province and Hambantota and Jaffna districts in the mo ing.

Some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces may experience foggy conditions in the mo ing.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
