The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that after 2.00 pm there will be scattered showers or thunderstorms in many parts of the island.

Some places in the Weste , Central, Sabaragamuwa, North-West and North-Central provinces may experience heavy rains of more than 75mm.

It also said that rain may occur in the mo ing in the northe and easte provinces.

Foggy conditions may prevail in some places in the Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces in the mo ing.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
