The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that after 1.00pm there will be scattered rains or thunderstorms in many parts of the island.

Some places in the Weste , Central, Sabaragamuwa, North West and Uva provinces may experience heavy rains of more than 75mm.

Rain is also possible in the mo ing in the northe and easte provinces.

Foggy conditions may prevail in some places in the Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces in the mo ing.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
