The Department of Meteorology has issued a statement saying that a slight decrease in the current heavy rain conditions in the south-weste parts of the island is expected from today (06).

It said that there will be occasional rains in Weste , Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and Galle and Matara districts.
 
There may be several rainy seasons in the North-West Province.

In the weste slopes of the central hills, in the northe , north-central provinces and in the districts of Puttalam, Hambantota and Trincomalee, Strong winds of around 45-50kmh are possible.
