The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that there will be scattered showers or thunderstorms in most of the provinces of the island after 1.00pm.

Some places in Weste , Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces may experience heavy rains of more than 75mm.

It also said that rain may occur in the mo ing in the Northe Province and Trincomalee district.

Foggy conditions may prevail in some places in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Central and Uva provinces in the mo ing.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
