The weather forecast issued by the Department of Meteorology says that the prevailing showery and windy conditions over the island are expected to continue further due to the active southwest monsoonal condition.

Showers are expected at times in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Southe provinces.

Several spells of showers will occur in the North-weste province.

Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in Weste and Sabaragamuwa province and Nuwara-Eliya district.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts in the evening or night.

Powerful winds of about 50-60 kmph can be expected at times over the Weste slopes of the central hills and in North-central, Weste , Southe , and North-weste provinces and Trincomalee and Monaragala districts.
