The Department of Meteorology says in an announcement that there will be occasional rain or thundershowers in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, South and North-West provinces and Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

In some areas of Weste , Sabaragamuwa and Southe provinces, more than 75 mm of heavy rain may occur.

Uva and Easte Provinces and Polonnaruwa, Matale and Mullaitivu districts will also experience scattered showers or thunderstorms during the evening or night.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
