The decision to reduce the price of bakery products is suspended

All Ceylon Bakery Owners' Association President Mr.N.K. Jayawardena said that although the Bakery Owners' Association had decided to reduce the price of bakery products including bread and buns by 10 rupees, the decision had to be suspended.

He said that it was due to the decision to give the opportunity to import wheat flour only to license holders.

He further said that the gove ment's action to import wheat flour under the license system has given more space to the two wheat flour companies to exploit the consumer.

He also mentioned that it had been decided to reduce the price of bread and buns according to the request of Trade Minister Nalin Fe ando.
