Demands an inquiry into Mathews case

Several former Sri Lankan cricketers have urged the Sri Lankan cricket authorities to file a complaint with the Inte ational Cricket Council (ICC) regarding the conduct of the umpires in the controversial 'time out' dismissal of Angelo Mathews.

That's because broadcast footage confirmed that Angelo Mathews was in the stadium in time before his helmet strap broke.

But the fourth referee of the match, Adrian Holdstock, declared that Angelo Mathews had not entered his stadium in the allotted 2 minutes before his helmet was broken.

As it has now been proven that the umpires have made a significant mistake in this incident, several former Sri Lankan cricketers have requested the Sri Lankan Cricket Board to intervene in this matter.

In addition, the demands also said to investigate whether umpire Marais Erasmus pressured the Bangladesh cricketer to file an appeal against Angelo Mathews.

However, the Inte ational Cricket Council has not yet made any statement regarding the incident.
