The National Dengue Control Unit says that 681 new dengue patients have been identified in the past 24 hours.

Its acting director, Dr. Kapila Kannangara, stated that the highest dengue outbreak is still being reported from the Maharagama Medical Officer of Health Division.

He further stated that dengue is also spreading rapidly in the Matara, Galle, and Ratnapura districts; Panadura in the Kalutara district; and Biyagama in the Gampaha district.
