The Department of Agricultural Services has started issuing fuel to farmers from today (19) according to the list of names provided to the Ministry of Energy by the Department of Agricultural Services.

Commissioner of the Department of Agricultural Development (Services), Sumith Chandana, stated that all the lists received by the Ministry of Energy have now been sent to the fuel stations.

Sumith Chandana stated that since there is currently congestion near the fuel stations, the fuel stations have been requested to give priority to farmers.

He said that farmers who have already started harvesting in the Maha season and those who are starting the Yala season will be able to obtain fuel without any problems in the future.
