Sri Lankan cricket sources say that the shoulder problem suffered by Sri Lanka opener Kusal Janith Perera during the World Cup warm-up match held yesterday (29) is not serious.
Accordingly, the Sri Lanka team management is going to send Kusal Janith Perera for a scan today to assess his shoulder.
Also, the team management expects that he will recover by the time of the first World Cup match on October 7th.
Apart from this, Kusal Janith Perera will be rested for the warm-up match to be held against Afghanistan on October 03.
The ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 will be held in India from October 5 to November 19, 2023.
Sri Lanka have already faced one practice match where they lost against Bangladesh.
Sri Lanka have already named a 14-man squad with spinner Maheesh Theekshana, but Maheesh has not been included in the squad as he is yet to fully recover.
