Iran has announced that the Strait of Hormuz has been closed.

Iran has also wa ed that it will attack ships trying to pass through it.

Iran has taken this drastic decision following the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Foreign media reported that the decision was taken while the Iranian armed forces are continuously carrying out retaliatory attacks against US and Israeli targets.
